Welcome to CareerVisions, Ltd., CareerVisions, NY and Community Change, Inc.!!!


Our youth programs seek to support the survival and success of students by promoting critical thinking, research and strategic planning through fun, club activities based on their interests. 


The Community Change Pedagogy is our educational approach that cultivates autodidactic learners by blending academics, personal interests, and real-world content with classroom, school and community learning experiences.


Our programs will start no sooner than the first week of October. In preparation for the start of the program, we have a number of important steps to take together to 1. 


Complete your hire so that we can pay you for the excellent work you will do with us; and 2. Orient you to our administrative and educational processes.

1.PLEASE LOG-IN TO OUR WEBSITE

2. ORIENTATION

Please select and participate in one of the virtual orientation sessions from the link below, to your convenience.

Upon making your selection, please email the designated person at least seven days in advance to confirm your participation.


3. PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR HIRE PACKAGE WITHIN THREE BUSINESS DAYS 

  1. Once you are logged-into our website, click on the dropdown menu, and then scroll to “New Hire”. 
  2. Please carefully read and follow the instructions to complete and submit your hire package. 
  3. Your hire is not complete until you have completed your hire package. If you decide to start working before completing your entire hire package, including attending orientations and trainings, you will be doing so as a volunteer. You will only get paid for authorized hours worked after you have been hired. To be hired, you must complete and submit your hire package after being invited to work with us by an authorized representative via the Welcome Letter.


4. PLEASE REVIEW YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY!

The regular rate for the teachers is $55/hour, for up to six authorized hours weekly for working directly with students leading scheduled program activities, as outlined in the job description at: https://communitychangeinc.com/careers/


Training Academy participants are compensated for attending these sessions (one per phase) at their regular rate ($55/hour). Please see the job description at https://communitychangeinc.com/careers/ for more details. 


The regular rate for the guidance counselor/social worker is $55/hour, for up to five authorized hours weekly for working directly with students leading scheduled program activities, as outlined in the job description at: https://communitychangeinc.com/careers/

You may retake the quiz until you get 10 out of 10 correct. 


6. PLEASE PROVIDE A DESCRIPTION OF YOUR CLUB

You may choose your selected model that will serve as the underlying theme of your club activities by selecting from the model/content area of the Community Change Pedagogy. The Community Change Pedagogy includes nine project-based units or models that organize students’ exploration around specific themes:


Each of these models promotes personal growth, career awareness, social responsibility, and community involvement.


Each of these models requires one special event and one action project


7. TRAININGS ON THE MODELS (TEACHERS/TEACHER ASSISTANTS ONLY)

Please select one model as the single approach to your club, and participate in its virtual training academy.

Training Academy


You will be asked to create a timeline of all of your scheduled sessions to input into your payroll spreadsheet before your club starts. The Training Academy will help you with strategies and resources to incorporate critical thinking, research and executive function skills in your club activities .You will be compensated at your regular hourly rate for attending the Training Academy. 


Staff may bill for one Training Academy session per phase. Staff are welcomed to attend more sessions in a single phase, but they may only bill for one.


8. RECRUIT STUDENTS!!!

You may begin recruiting students if your school has been approved to start its program. Please refer to your site coordinator for guidance. Please be mindful that each teacher’s club must maintain regular attendance of at least 15 enrolled students; otherwise, it may be discontinued. Doing so helps to satisfy the terms of our contract with the State, and to avoid funding cuts so that we can operate within their assigned budget.


Students may only participate if they are enrolled. 
The completed enrollment form provides legally binding protections to the company, and meets the State’s standards for the offering of our services. As such, your cooperation in ensuring the enrollment of all participants is appreciated and very much needed.


Some schools have arranged for students to receive academic credit towards their diploma for participating in our teacher-led clubs. Please refer to your site coordinator for guidance.

11. PAY SCHEDULE

Payments will be made for entries of services provided within the period start dates (first column) and end dates (second column). Pay dates for each period is indicated in the third column for each period start and end date.


For teachers and teaching artists, participant sign-in sheets and links to distinct lessons must be included on your payroll spreadsheet for each day of service. 


Teachers/teaching artists not implementing our educational pedagogy using Teacher PAI as prescribed (at least twice weekly or 50% of their scheduled, authorized hours working with students) are not eligible for compensation or continued employment.
