Community Change, Inc. offers 15 unique programs that bring our pedagogy to life across educational and community settings. Each program is appropriate for K–12 youth and adults. These programs fall into three categories: program models, focus activity programs, and focus groups programs.
Programs Models (9) These are our core instructional models that integrate academics and student interests to guide them in a project-based, structured exploration of real-world themes:
- CareerVisions – Career exploration, job readiness, and entrepreneurship based on students’ passions and strengths.
- Community Change – Civic engagement and service learning that address neighborhood concerns.
- Foodpreneurs – An exploration of the food industry that blends culinary arts, entrepreneurship, and health education lessons in a fun and dynamic way.
- Legacy – Exploration of students’ cultural heritage and the traditions of others.
- The Black Experience – An in-depth look at the history, contributions, and lived experiences of people of African descent.
- The Latino Experience – A focused exploration of Latino culture, history, and community.
- Mastery – Strengthening 21st-century life and academic skills to increase self-sufficiency and readiness for adult success.
- Money Move$ – Financial literacy and investing through real-world economic lessons, including cryptocurrency, stocks, and entrepreneurship.
- Peace – Conflict management, restorative practices, and healthy relationship-building at school, home, and in the community.
Focus Activity Programs (3) These activity-based programs offer subject-specific formats and enrichment options that can be applied to any of the model programs:
- Creative Expressions – Includes dance, drama, spoken word, visual art, digital media, and more. Any art form may be explored.
- Genius – Focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) through inquiry, design thinking, and innovation.
- Level Up – Focused on academic support. Includes readiness for high school and college, study skills, and school success strategies.
Focus Groups Programs (3) These are specialized support groups for specific subgroups of students that may be applied to any of the model or activity programs:
- The Brotherhood Program – A boys and men’s support group.
- The Sisterhood Program – A girls and women’s support group.
- Pathway to Power (P2P) – Designed specifically for students in temporary housing and foster care, providing them with three services:
- school attendance/punctuality follow-up;
- academic support; and
- in-school/afterschool clubs to support their school connectedness and social development.
Using age-appropriate references and exercises, each program is suitable for K–12 youth and adults, and can be implemented during the school day, afterschool, and/or during the summer in any educational setting.
