Coordinator

The objective of the site coordinator position is to provide oversight to the day-to-day activities of the program at the school to ensure that it is compliant and implemented with fidelity. Responsibilities include hiring site staff, attending/leading staff meetings and trainings, payroll, and communicating with the principal.

Objectives:

1. To provide guidance to teaching artists and/or teachers on the design and implementation of the Community Change, CareerVisions, Legacy and Peace Models and select evidence-based curricula.
2. To ensure that the Models and curricula are implemented with integrity.

Towards meeting these objectives, the coordinator will:

Maintain a mastery of the CareerVisions, Community Change, Legacy and Peace Models and select evidence-based curricula.
Ensure the integrity of the CareerVisions, Community Change, Legacy and Peace Models and select evidence-based curricula and adherence to the timeline developed.
Research exercises and references to develop learning plans that support the State Standards.
Collaboratively develop learning plans with teachers/teaching artists. Learning plans should be aligned with the day school curriculum, intentionally integrated with State Standards, and be based on the teacher’s choice of the Community Change, CareerVisions, Legacy and Peace Models.
Provide instructional coaching to assigned teachers/teaching artists in Community Change, CareerVisions, Legacy and Peace and select evidence-based curricula.
Attend scheduled meetings with company and/or its client(s).
Coordinate meetings with assigned teachers/teaching artists(s).
Guide teachers/teaching artists to help students network with the community to organize a career fair.
Guide teachers/teaching artists in preparing students to deliver mini-workshops to their peers based on the Community Change, CareerVisions, Legacy and Peace Models.
Submit invoices and payroll logs.

Under no circumstance is a team member to promote their independent work or negotiate an independent relationship, professional or otherwise, with a client or participant without the prior knowledge or consent of this company’s Executive Director. Doing so will result in the permanent end of our working relationship.

 

Time Commitment:

Directors/Coordinators oversee up to five projects per semester/cycle. These projects are throughout New York State (https://communitychangeinc.com/service-locations-2/).

Each project runs up to 14-weeks, for which the director/coordinator is compensated roughly 75 hours (roughly six hours weekly) per semester to supervise at least four teachers/artists. Coordinator-led projects run for one semester; Director-led projects run for both semesters during the school year. Both titles involve the following tasks:

  • Seven scheduled, 2-hour team meetings (or 14, 1-hour meetings, 14 hours total) per semester with assigned teachers/artists.
  • Compiling research of references and strategies for engagement in the form of CCI’s List of Resources for Engagement and the Resource Page of CCI’s Website (1 hour weekly, up to 14 hours total per semester).
  • Review required documents and log entries (1 hour weekly up to 14 hours total per semester).
  • Program monitoring (1 hour weekly, up to 14 hours total per semester)
  • Formal and informal communications, as needed, including emails, memos and reminders (1 hour weekly, up to 14 hours total per semester)
  • At least 5 hours of additional time allocated for:
    • meetings with client/partners, including evaluator and advisory council, as needed and applicable
    • company’s internal meetings, as needed
    • compiling students’ midterm and end of term stipends/incentives, when applicable

Compensation:

$60/hour for all of the aforementioned services within time allocation (10 – 15 hours weekly, not to exceed assigned budget), including internal meetings and trainings with supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must be a pedagogue with executive management experience; must in good standing with the assigned school districts.
