Developed for the New York City Department of Education, this guide provides 12 lessons that build students’ community organizing skills, such as public speaking and planning meetings while engaging them in analyzing their community concerns. Focusing on gun violence, this guide includes references to support alternative lessons on littering, negative body image, negative peer pressure, pollution, poor air quality, and poverty.
